Lake Wānaka hunting

Introduction
The Lake Wānaka hunting area comprises some 20,000 hectares in the Craigie, Albert, Minaret and Rumbling Burn western tributaries of the lake, and on Mt Burke to the east of the lake. Western and eastern sides of Lake Wānaka, accessed from West Wanaka Rd, or SH6 between Wanaka and The Neck.
Climate
The area is mostly alpine and very cold in winter. It can be hot in summer although the weather is changeable at all times of the year.
