Introduction

The New Zealand Conservation Authority (NZCA) meets six times a year.

The NZCA meets in February, April, June, August, October and December. The meetings usually take place on the third Thursday and Friday of the month.

Two of the six meetings are held outside of Wellington and include a fieldtrip so as to allow for interaction between the NZCA and conservation boards. Additionally, this gives the NZCA members an appreciation of management issues facing individual conservancies which are representative of similar issues faced by DOC and conservation boards throughout the country, or which are national conservation issues themselves.
