Introduction

Provides high quality visitor information for exploring Paparoa National Park as well as other locations on conservation land on the Northern West Coast of the South Island.

Opening hours

  • 9 am – 4:30 pm, 7 days a week
  • Closed on Christmas Day (25 December)

Getting there

The Paparoa National Park Visitor Centre is located across the road from Pancake Rocks and Blow Holes (also referred to as Dolomite Point) in the Punangairi building at Punakaiki. It is situated about 45 minutes north of Greymouth and 60 minutes south of Westport on State Highway 6, on the beautiful Great Coast Road.

There are no fuel or ATM facilities in Punakaiki, these can be accessed in Greymouth or Westport.
