This report summarises the evaluation process leading to the Proposed New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement, as required under Section 32 of the Resource Management Act.

Summary

The purpose of this report is to provide a summary of the evaluation undertaken, in accordance with section 32 of the Resource Management Act (the RMA) of the Proposed New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement 2008 (Proposed NZCPS).

This report states the purpose and contents of an NZCPS, summarises the review of the 1994 NZCPS; outlines the methodology used to prepare the report; then summarises the evaluation undertaken of the objectives and policies of the Proposed NZCPS 2008.
