7–16 March 2022: Volunteer at Port Pegasus/Pikihatiti maintaining historical sites in the area.
October 2021 – February 2022: This is a fantastic opportunity for people wanting to visit remote areas of Stewart Island/Rakiura while also gaining biodiversity field experience.
Tasks will include clearing wind falls, clearing vegetation using scrub bars and hedge trimmers and remarking the tracks using orange poles and triangles.
Volunteers will carry out maintenance on the historic water race in the Piano Flat area, the only known operational water race in Southland.
14 – 18 February 2022: This is a wonderful opportunity to discover several of Southland's historic relics and help to preserve them for future generations.
November 2021 – March 2022: Curio Bay is one of Southland's most popular destinations, home to endangered endemic species such as Hector's dolphin and yellow-eyed penguins/hoiho, and the remarkable fossilised forest.
