The New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement (NZCPS) guides local authorities in their day to day management of the coastal environment. The NZCPS 1994 is no longer current as it has been superseded by the NZCPS 2010.

Summary

The purpose of the NZ Coastal Policy Statement 1994 was to state policies in order to achieve the purpose of the Resource Management Act in relation to the coastal environment of New Zealand.

Note: The 1994 New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement has been superseded by the New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement 2010.
