- Adult (18+ years): $23 per night

- Infant (0 - 4 years): free
Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite except between 26 December to 8 February inclusive.
Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge. Sites may not be available if you do not book.
There's a $3 fee per Campsite Pass user to book a powered site.
Bookings
Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2025.
All bookings are first-come first-served. We do not have waiting lists for bookings for future seasons or facilities that are already booked-out.
Bookings are required all year.
A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.
Your booking will be for a site, which will be allocated/selected on arrival.
From the south, turn off SH12 just north of Kaihu onto Trounson Park Road, 35 km north of Dargarville, and follow this for 7 km.
From the north, turn off SH12 just south of Waipoua Forest onto Katui Road (gravel), 40 km south of Opononi and follow for this 8.5 km.

The campsite is nestled right on the edge of Trounson Kauri Park where you can access an easy 40-minute walk taking you past spectacular kauri trees and clear streams.
