Animals present are goats, chamois and fallow deer.
This block is part of the Mt Creighton Conservation Area and Hanley Faces Conservation Area and includes the northern faces of Mt Crichton. Block is mainly open tussock country and beech forest.
The Moke Creek West block is restricted. You need to get a permit (issued for four days at a time only) specifically for this block, from the Queenstown Visitor Centre.
A maximum of one party with up to four rifles in the block is allowed at one time.
Best access from Moke Lake carpark, follow the Moke Lake track to the base of the Hanley faces. Walk up the Moke Creek West Branch gully and follow this into the block. Do not cross private land to access this block.
Helicopter landings are by permit only.
