- 26 December – 11 January: Minimum fee per site is 2 adults regardless of ages.
Fires are not permitted at any time. See fire rules on conservation land.
Dog access
The campground is a great spot for families with a jetty and playground. The northern facing campsites include foreshore and inland powered and unpowered sites.
Explore glow worm habitat on a short walk that extends from the campground. This walk also connect with the Link path from Picton to Havelock.

Storage sites for caravans and boats are also bookable. They are in the open with no cover. Dimensions of storage sites:
- S1 - S9: 7 metres
- S10 - S13: 10 metres

Facilities
- Hot showers for campers only. These need a $1 coin.
- Washing machines and driers for campers only. Coin operated
- Wheelchair accessible shower and toilet blocks.
- Communal kitchen with jug, toaster, microwave, electric hob, fridge, freezer. Bring your own BBQ, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.
- Playground on the foreshore.
- Boats can be launched from the beach. The nearest boat ramp is 4 km at Ngakuta Bay.

Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite except between 26 December to 8 February inclusive.
The DOC Backcountry Hut Pass is not applicable at this campsite.
Campsite Pass bookings must be booked online before occupying a site. If you do not book, bookings may be made by campground staff (if present) and will incur a $10 service charge. Sites may not be available if you do not book.
Bookings
Bookings are open for stays up to 30 June 2025.
All bookings are first-come first-served. We do not have waiting lists for bookings for future seasons or facilities that are already booked-out.
Bookings are required all year. Book well in advance for the peak period from 1 December - 28 February and for public holiday weekends.
A $10 service fee applies to phone and in-person booking. This is a limited service – book online first. An in-person booking is dependent on there being space available.
Email bookings are not available for this campsite.
The campsite is at 1998 Queen Charlotte Drive. This is 13 km from Picton or 17 km from Havelock along Queen Charlotte Drive, on the Grove Arm of Queen Charlotte Sound.
Vehicles over 12.6 m long, including any trailers, are not allowed on Queen Charlotte Drive due to it being a narrow and winding road.
Check the Marlborough District Council website and the Waka Kotahi/NZTA site for current road conditions prior to departure. Drivers can expect speed restrictions, traffic signal controls, one-way sections and ongoing roadworks at any time.

- No pets, chainsaws, generators or compressors allowed.
- All groups must include a responsible adult 18 plus.
Check-in and office hours
Summer office hours are 2 pm - 3 pm and 5.30 pm - 7 pm.
Bookings are required. The online kiosk located on the camp office deck is available to campers who have not already made a booking.
Once booked, check in at the office during office hours for facility door codes.
Cabin check-ins may arrive only during office hours unless otherwise arranged in advance. Bedding and pillows are not available at the property, please bring your own.
If the office is closed upon your arrival, and it is after 2 pm you may proceed directly to your campsite. Return for code and check in during open hours.
Check-out is by 10 am.
DOC rangers may be working on the property in other capacities and able to assist at additional times subject to availability.
Motorhome and caravans
All caravans and campervans that require power must have a current Electrical Warrant of Fitness (WOF), which will be checked on arrival. If your Electrical WOF is not current you won't be allowed to connect to power.
There is no dump station at this site
The nearest dump stations are 13 km away in Picton, at the NPD Picton Fuelstop and GAS Petrol Service Station. There are also dump stations at the Mobil in both Havelock and Blenheim.

Pack supplies
The on-site shop is no longer operating at Momorangi. The closest options for supplies are The Queen Charlotte Tavern or the Challenge Linkwater service station. Both are less than 10 minutes’ drive towards Havelock. The closest towns are Picton or Havelock.
Water safety
The stream through the camp is not fenced. Take extra care if you have small children.
Vehicle restrictions for Queen Charlotte Drive
Queen Charlotte Drive is restricted to vehicles less than a combined length of 12.6 m only due to major flood damage from storms in August 2022.
