Possum control for Molesworth Recreation Reserve Acheron East hunting area

A 1080 possum control operation using aerial and ground methods is planned for Molesworth from 1 October 2022. This is to control bovine tuberculosis. The operation is by Vector Free Marlborough Limited (VFML), contracted by OSPRI for the TBfree programme.

Hunting on public conservation land will still be permitted during the operation. Permits will be issued as normal to those blocks not affected by the operation.

Your issued Molesworth permit and/or booking confirmation for affected blocks will be cancelled and you will no longer be able to hunt during the operation. Our office will contact those hunters that are affected. See Molesworth hunting block availability calendars for a list of the affected blocks and more information.

For further information contact VFML on 0508 548 008 or email communications@vectorfree.co.nz.

DOC issues all activity permits. Permits can be applied for using the online application form below. Allow 10 working days for us to receive and process your application.

  • See the list below to work out if you need an activity permit.
  • Activity permits may be declined due to farming activities such as mustering, calving and animal pest control.
