Te Rua-o-te-moko / Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre is in the lakeside town of Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park – part of the Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area.

Call before visiting as some visitor centres may have to physically close due to staff shortages.

Opening hours

Phone us or check here for any last minute updates to our opening hours. Due to Omicron impacts we may need to close our visitor centre at short notice for a period of time.

Winter hours

From 1 May – 23 October 2022 we are open Monday to Saturday, 9 am – 4 pm. Closed for lunch 12 pm – 1 pm.

Closed on Sundays.

Summer hours

From 24 October 2022 (Labour Day) – 30 April 2023 we are open daily, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. 

Closed Christmas Day

We are closed Christmas Day.

Anzac Day 25 April

We are open 1 pm – 4:30 pm.

Getting there

We’re on the waterfront, at the corner of Lakefront Drive and SH95 Manapouri Highway. It's a 10 minute walk from Te Anau's main street.
