This site in the Whitcombe is open year round.

Access information

Helicopter access: Available all year
Road access point: Whitcombe Valley Road/ Hokitika Gorge.
Foot access: Foot access, while possible, it is 2-3 days to Prices Basin hut (difficult).

Notes

Highest tahr numbers on the true left branch of Prices River. Chamois numbers increase towards Cropp River.
