- Hut tickets purchased online can be cancelled for a full refund up to the date stated on the ticket.
- On or after the date stated on the ticket, hut tickets are non-refundable.
- A booking system account is required to purchase a hut ticket.
- Hut ticket users are not entitled to exclusive access to a hut or any associated facilities or services.
- Purchasing a hut ticket does not guarantee a bunk at a hut, and does not constitute a booking.
- A $10 service fee applies for hut ticket purchases or changes made through Visitor Centres or other Department of Conservation (DOC) booking offices.
- Hut tickets must either be shown to DOC staff or their agents on request, or the ticket and confirmation numbers provided.
- Hut ticket users must register their stay in a hut by entering their name and ticket number in the hut book.
- Hut ticket users must comply with all laws, regulations and reasonable directions given by or on behalf of DOC or any other lawful authority in respect of the use of huts and associated facilities or services.
- Hut ticket users should observe the Leave No Trace principles.
- Hut tickets are not valid for use at any vehicle accessible Conservation Campsite.
- Hut tickets are not valid for use at any bookable hut or other bookable facility.
- Hut tickets are not valid for use at any third-party owned, private and club huts.
- Hut tickets are not valid for use at Serviced Alpine club huts.
- Hut ticket terms and conditions, including the list of huts that are excluded, may be subject to change at any time and without prior notice. It is the responsibility of the hut ticket holder to check the terms and conditions for any changes.
- Physical standard hut tickets will be accepted for stays at non-bookable huts until the earliest of either their stated expiry date or 31 October 2027.
- Physical standard hut tickets are non-refundable.
- From 1 July 2023, hut tickets sold will contain an expiry date and are eligible for use one year from the date of purchase. Hut tickets purchased prior to 1 July 2023 are eligible for use until July 2024.
