Didymo is present in Lake Te Anau and Eglinton River, but is not currently in the pristine Lake Hankinson.
Any boats going into Lake Hankinson need to be thoroughly cleaned.
All visitors should take precautions to avoid transporting didymo when on these waterways, including when swimming/fishing/boating/kayaking/packrafting.
Do not take water from these areas and avoid filling water bottles.
