The Mokoroa Stream Track links the Goldie Bush Walkway and Mokoroa Falls Track.
The track leaves the Goldie Bush Walkway at a junction just before the swingbridge. It follows the Mokoroa Stream, crossing it a number of times, before exiting on the true left of the stream, just before reaching the Mokoroa Falls.
The track climbs steeply to reach the Mokoroa Falls Track. A lookout marks the start of the Mokoroa Falls Track and gives good views of the falls.
Longer loop walk
For a longer more challenging walk, continue on from the Mokoroa Stream Track to the Mokoroa Falls Track (1.5 km, 40 min one way).
After about 40 min, turn right onto the Goldie Bush Walkway. Walk 2.2 km (1 hr 15 min one way) back to the junction of Goldie Bush Walkway and Mokoroa Stream Track, and a further 1.3 km (35 min one way) to Constable Road. Continue straight from the junction of the Mokoroa Falls Track and Goldie Bush Walkway to exit at Horsman Rd (5 min one way).
The Mokoroa Stream track is in between Muriwai and Waitākere, on Auckland's west coast, approximately 45 km from Auckland City. It is an additional track which can be accessed from Goldie Bush Walkway
To access the track from Constable Rd, Muriwai: walk the Goldie Bush Walkway until you reach the junction with the Mokoroa Stream Track, just before the swingbridge – approximately 35 min.
Note: Parking is limited. Do not park in the 'No Parking' areas signposted. These areas allow unrestricted access for local residents and emergency services. Auckland Transport may tow your vehicle.

Mokoroa Stream Track is a marked route only and extreme care is needed.
- There are numerous stream crossings - do not attempt after heavy rain.
- A substantial rock fall occured at Mokoroa Falls during March 2014 and again in August 2020. There are unstable rocks and a danger of further rock falls. Stay well clear of the area below the Mokoroa Falls.
