Volunteer with Kākāpō Recovery

Applications for the 2026 breeding season volunteer roles have now closed.

There are currently no volunteer opportunities available.

Our volunteer opportunities open ahead of kākāpō breeding seasons which occur just once every 2-4 years. Timing of the breeding season after 2026 is yet to be predicted, but at the earliest would be 2028.

Please check back closer to the anticipated breeding period. Until then, you can support our programme through donating to Kākāpō Recovery or symbolic adoption of a kākāpō.
