This is a statement of research needs that will drive significant advancement toward achieving the goals of the Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy.

The Prospectus will be used by the Department of Conservation to help prioritise research, but it is also aimed at providing focus for all those involved in biodiversity conservation science in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Prospectus explains the need for biodiversity conservation science priorities, how the priorities were developed, what they are and how they will be used. It also describes the links with Te Mana o te Taiao – the Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy (ANZBS), and which ANZBS goals the priorities will contribute towards achieving.
