The application is from Port Otago Limited, seeking permission to build staff accommodation at Milford Sound, Fiordland National Park.

The accommodation would house pilots, training pilots, pilot boat operators, deckhand and various auditors from Maritime NZ or Environment Southland. The staff provide services in the designated pilotage areas in Fiordland and Stewart Island.

The total area required for the lease is 266m2.
