Summary of proposal: Tairāwhiti Museum, in partnership with Tūrangi Iwi and Te Aitanga a Hauiti, is organising an exhibition of taonga Māori that were uplifted from the Tairāwhiti region by the crew of the Endeavour in 1769. The taonga have been held in private and public collection in Europe for 250 years and this exhibition seeks to bring them back to New Zealand for the first time since they left.
