Introduction

Have your say on DOC's intention to dispose of an area of conservation land in Lake Te Anau Control Gates Conservation Area. Submissions close 8 June 2017.

The Department of Conservation gives notice of its intention to dispose of an area of approximately 4.4535 ha of conservation land being part of the Lake Te Anau Control Gates Conservation Area, described as Southland District, Pt Run 3018. 

The land is located on Golf Course Road, Te Anau. The area of land concerned has no conservation values and was the town rubbish dump until the 1960s. 

If, after consideration of any objections or submissions, it is decided that the area is no longer required for conservation purposes, DOC intends to dispose of the land.

How to submit

Any person or organisation may object in writing to the proposal, or make written submissions on the proposal.

Objections or submissions must be received at the address listed below by 4 pm 8 June 2017. Submitters must also state whether they wish to be heard in support of their submission.
