Intention to grant a concession to Fish & Game Council Eastern Region

The Minister of Conservation gives notice of his intention to grant a 30 year lease/licence concession under section 59 A of the Reserves Act and 17Q of the Conservation Act 1987 to the Fish & Game Council Eastern Region for exclusive use (lease) of land to own, occupy and maintain an existing hut at Lake Tarawera Scenic Reserve and for a licence (non-exclusive use) of the area around the hut.

How to submit

Any person or organisation may object in writing to the Director-General against the proposal, or make written submissions on the proposal.

Submissions will be accepted up to and including 1 March 2018.

Note that submitters' information could be disclosed under the Official Information Act 1982 and submissions are part of the statutory process and may be commented on by the applicant.

Hearings

Any person or organisation wishing to be heard in support of his/her objection, or submission, must request (in that objection/submission) an opportunity to appear before the Director-General.

If a hearing is required, it is likely to occur on the week starting 12 March 2018.
