Northern North Island Te Roroa Manawhenua Trust Te Toa Whenua $180,000 Te Toa Whenua is an iwi-led 900 ha landscape and river restoration project running approximately 17.4 km along one side of the Waipoua River out to the sea, on the other side of the river is the Waipoua Sanctuary or proposed Waipoua Kauri National Park.
Auckland Motuihe Trust Invasive Weed Control Programme $49,000 The Motuihe Trust will employ a professional weed control organisation to assist in the restoration, enhancement and protection of the indigenous flora and fauna, and significant Māori and historic sites of Motuihe Island.
Auckland Windy Hill Rosalie Bay Catchment Trust War on Weeds (rats and feral cats) - Banking Biodiversity $76,440 The Windy Hill Sanctuary in south eastern Great Barrier Island is operating the project; War on Weeds (rats and feral cats) - Banking Biodiversity, which is an integrated plant and animal pest management project focussed on sustaining and improving biodiversity.
Auckland Motuora Restoration Society Motuora Island Restoration $14,000 This project is a community-led initiative to undertake weed control on the 80 ha Motuora Island, with the specific aim of employing professional weed contractors to contain and reduce invasive weeds along the coastal cliffs.
Auckland The Te Henga Track Environmental Group Te Henga Track Restoration $40,000 This project is a community-led initiative to undertake weed control, pest control and track maintenance along the Te Henga Track, part of the Hillary Trail in the Waitakere Ranges.
Auckland Nga Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara Development Trust Nga Taonga o Kaipara- Management Plans $30,000 The kaitiaki aim to restore nine reserves and ex-conservation sites returned through settlement process to enhance the existing natural and sensitive environment of South Head; coastal, rural and significant ecological areas on land, marine, estuarine and fresh water ways.

Auckland Whai Maia Charitable Trust 1 Restoring Mauri: Whenua Rangatira - Past, Present and Future $25,000 This project which has a cultural, educational and ecological importance will capture matauranga associated with the ancient history of the whenua and make it accessible to tamariki, whanau and the wider community through a digital resource.
Auckland Te Matuku Bay Landcare Group Te Matuku Bay Scenic Reserve Weed Eradication Project $20,000 This is part of a wider landscape management approach for the control of pest plants and animals in the Te Matuku Bay catchment. It will tackle invasive weed species which impact the native environment by competing with native flora species, thereby reducing food availability for native fauna.
Auckland Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp MOEC Weed Eradication Project $35,000 Targeting of invasive pest weeds and seed sources to support supplementary planting in order to improve the island's carrying capability for native flora and fauna.
Auckland Marutūāhu Rōpū Limited Partnership Motuora Island Ranger $50,000 Establishment of an iwi ranger role to care for taonga on the island including kiwi, to coordinate weed control programmes while promoting the tikanga of Marutūāhu and iwi-led conservation initiatives.

Hauraki-Waikato-Taranaki Walk Tairua Society Inc Public walkway around Pepe Estuary $1,000 To complement the construction a public walkway around the Pepe Estuary, Tairua. This funding also contributes toward a growing landscape-wide pest control initiative by supplying traps for rat and stoat control.

Hauraki-Waikato-Taranaki A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand Karioi Maunga ki te Moana (mountain to the sea). $90,000 Feral cat and rat control in key priority areas including oi (grey faced petrel) breeding sites on Mt Karioi, part of a project to restore Karioi Maunga as a seabird mountain.
Hauraki-Waikato-Taranaki Project Echo Hamilton city long-tailed bat habitat quality and distribution $20,000 This project will increase knowledge about bat habitat and distribution in an urban area and will result in the preparation of a plan for enhancement / restoration of urban bat populations - this will also provide an opportunity to enhance the engagement of local communities in local conservation and to tell the story of the conservation values of urban bush areas.

Central North Island Tauhara Mountain Trust Wilding pine control on Mount Tauhara $75,000 Using a recently prepared management plan the aim of the project is to undertake wilding pine control across the mountain with a goal to removing wilding pines from the landscape to result in an enhanced indigenous biodiversity and improve aesthetic values of the Maunga.
Central North Island Ngati Tahu-Ngati Whaoa Runanga Trust Interpretation/korero Lakes Ngahewa and Ngapouri $8,600 Installation of signage and an interactive mobile phone tool at Lake Ngahewa and Lake Ngapouri, Reporoa, to share environmental, cultural and historical information on these two sites.
Central North Island Rotoehu Ecological Trust  Toitu a Rotoehu - Toitu a Rakaau a Kauwae Hapa B $102,209 A collaboration between Rotoehu Ecological Trust, Kaingaroa Timberlands and Ngāti Mākino Heritage Trust is undertaking animal and plant pest control in Rotoehu Forest, home to a population of North Island kōkako.
Central North Island Advocates for The Tongariro River Wilding Pine and Willow Control - Tongariro River Flats $5,000 Preservation and encouragement of the native kanuka/manuka scrubland and regenerating native forest in the middle reaches of the Tongariro River basin and margins through wilding pine and willow control.
Central North Island Mt Hiwi Charitable Trust Moumahaki Kiwi Restoration Project $70,000 This collaborative project is working toward expanding a kiwi breeding habitat in the Mt Hiwi and Okahutiria Conservation Area by extending the hectares under active pest control.
Central North Island Rotoiti 15 Trust Makatiti Dome Scenic Reserve - Combined Aerial and Ground Based Toxin Application $90,346 The purpose of this project is to implement a conservation management plan targeted at keeping animal pests at low levels required to maintain the health of the ecosystem, and to allow regeneration across the Makatiti Dome Scenic Reserve.
Central North Island Aongatete Forest Restoration Trust Aongatete Forest Restoration Project – Education Resource and King Fern Protection $23,720 The project goals are to restore the biodiversity at Aongatete, and improve the recreational and educational experience of its visitors, while showcasing the need for wide scale restoration of the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park.
Central North Island Kaharoa Kokako Trust Kaharoa Kokako Trust weed control and roading $25,100 The purpose of this project is to clear and reform road access and control areas of wilding pines in the Kaharoa Conservation Area, home to a population of North Island kōkako.
Lower North Island Hohepa Homes Hawkes Bay Trust Lower Taipo Stream Wetland Enhancement Project $36,000 The project will develop and deliver a pest management strategy with a goal of establishing a predator-free wetland habitat in a significant part of the urban landscape of Napier City.

Lower North Island Forest Lifeforce Restoration Trust Maungataniwha Trapping $18,000 Extending the area covered by mustelid trapping operations to support the Maungataniwha Kiwi Project.
Lower North Island Wellington Natural Heritage Trust Inc.  Long Gully Bush Reserve Restoration $38,698 The Trust will work with neighbouring landowners to manage the fenced Long Gully Bush Reserve area through plant pest control and animal pest control to enable the natural regeneration process, and protection of native fauna spilling over from nearby Zealandia.
Lower North Island Aorangi Restoration Trust Developing and Communicating an Aorangi Restoration Project Plan $20,000 To develop a 10-year Strategic Management Plan for the Aorangi Restoration Project, and to communicate it to the wider Aorangi community, including partners and potential funders.
Lower North Island Whareroa Guardians Community Trust Inc Ramaroa Wetland Restoration Stage 2 $14,998 Protection of the Ramaroa Wetland through the engagement of a fencing contractor to build a new stock-proof fence through a section of the wetland to reduce stock contamination of water flowing into the wetland.
Lower North Island Milson Scout Troop North Manawatu Gorge restoration $5,000 Provision of basic tools (including traps) to support a student-led animal pest control project on the northern side of the Manawatu Gorge.
Lower North Island Brooklyn Trail Builders Hawkins Hill Pest Control $10,000 Extending pest control in regenerating native bush in Wellington's Green Belt by establishing a trapping network to protect rare native birds that move from the adjacent Zealandia sanctuary.
Lower North Island Chatham Islands Taiko Trust SW Chatham restoration project - revegetation component $45,000 Resourcing local island-based growers to grow and plant 15,000 plants per year, contributing toward a large restoration project in the south west corner of Main Chatham.
Lower North Island Tuanui Family Trust Tuku Farm Covenant Predator Control $20,000 Undertaking predator control in a few areas of forest covenants to provide a landscape approach to biodiversity across the island, and support an area at the core of the taiko breeding colony.
Lower North Island Ohinemama Farm Limited Ohinemama Forest Protection $35,000 The surveying of a large parcel of indigenous forest land that is to be fenced off and the biodiversity values protected.
Lower North Island Castlepoint Ratepayers & Residents Association and Te Hika a Papauma Restoration at Rangiwhakaoma/Castlepoint Scenic Reserve $33,000 Establishment of a native plant nursery to produce native plants including 2,000 spinifex and pingao plants per year. These plants are central to the ecological restoration of the Rangiwhakaoma/Castlepoint Scenic Reserve.
Lower North Island Paikea-Whitireia Trust Pukehapopo Re-vegetation and Biodiversity Enhancement Project $10,000 The project aims to halt erosion of Pukehāpopō through revegetation planting, and will also conserve the natural and historical heritage of Ngāti Konohi.
Lower North Island Ruahine Whio Trust Ruahine Whio and Kiwi surveys $10,000 Surveys to confirm kiwi and whio presence throughout catchments in the Ruahine Range using automated acoustic recorders (kiwi), and dog surveys (whio). The project aims to get accurate, up to date information to inform future management.
Lower North Island Te Poho o Rawiri Marae Committee (on behalf of Ngati Oneone, hapu Iwi of Ngati Porou) Titirangi Restoration $20,000 The aim of this project is to eradicate environmental weed species from a key block of land in a systematic and managed approach prior to planting native species leading to self-sustaining, weed free forest cover.
Lower North Island Te Runanga o Rangitane o Tamaki nui a rua Haukopuapua Whakaora $20,000 Support to fund the preparation of two plans (weed management, and cultural impact assessment and alignment) to benefit the freshwater ecosystems within the Haukopuapua Scenic Reserve.
Lower North Island Kotukutuku Ecological Restoration Project Kotukutuku Ecological Restoration Project $8,714 Continuation of an existing project managing the ecological restoration of 17 ha of lowland kohekohe forest and regenerating manuka by installing predator control traps and bait stations to a new area of the site.
Lower North Island Carnarvon 382 & 383 Trust Kōpūtara Restoration Project $20,000 Growsafe training and materials (including traps) for animal pest control to contribute to the restoration of Lake Koputara.
Lower North Island Nga Uri o Te Kooti Rikirangi Settlement Trust The Matuku Enhancement Habitat Project $30,000 This project is about the restoration of Te Maungarongo wetland and the protection of the matuku/bittern habitat with pest plant and animal control.
Northern South Island Friends of Cobb Inc Predator control and wildlife monitoring centred on the Cobb valley $10,880 A predator control and wildlife monitoring project in the Cobb valley where newly purchased traps will enable trap lines to be extended in response to availability of staff to service and complete the lines. Remaining traps are to be held in reserve to replace damaged or lost traps over next three years.
Northern South Island Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust Paid Coordinator Role $45,000 The coordinator will play a key role in communicating with volunteer groups and the Trust's other stakeholders. Focus will also be paid to the Trust's sustainability through the maintenance of relationships with key funding agencies, enabling the Trust to fund and manage major projects.
Northern South Island Waima Valley Ecological Restoration Society Incorporated Waima Valley Old Man's Beard Eradication Project $48,370 This objective of this project is to eradicate Old Man's Beard from the catchment of the Waima (Ure) River in South Marlborough, an area with very high natural values and rare ecosystems associated with limestone geology.
Northern South Island Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust Outer Pelorus Wilding Pine Control $50,000 The Trust will employ contractors to drill and inject the wilding pines with herbicide in two sectors of the Outer Pelorus Sounds. An area at high risk from wilding pines with large open spaces of retired grazing land being rapidly colonised by wind-borne seed, this will allow native bush to regenerate and dominate again.
Northern South Island D'Urville Island Stoat Eradication Charitable Trust Operational Plan - D'Urville Island Stoat Eradication $25,000 This project will develop an operational plan as the next stage of eradicating stoats from D'Urville Island. A feasibility study has confirmed that stoat eradication is technically feasible on the island.
Northern South Island The Link Pathway Trust Link Pathway: The Grove to Momorangi Bay Section $30,000 The Link Pathway is a community initiated project to create a high quality pathway from Havelock to Picton. This project will prioritise a 2.5 km section of coastal margin between The Grove and Momorangi Bay.
Northern South Island Friends of Rotoiti Friends of Rotoiti Great Spotted Kiwi Project $54,936 To undertake monitoring of the 5,000 ha Rotoiti mainland island kiwi population to determine areas where there is spare unoccupied territories. Twenty unrelated individuals will be added to the site to ensure a strong genetic base for this population and to enable better quality research to be carried out at this easily-accessible site.
Northern South Island Tasman Environmental Trust Tasman Environmental Trust Management Development $60,000 Tasman Environmental Trust will appoint a Trust Manager to develop plans for a strategic role in the wider Nelson Tasman area while managing and developing the Trust's operational resources. Strengthening of the Trust's partnerships with key stakeholders and working to ensure the sustainability of the Trust will also be key to the role.
Northern South Island Nelson-Tasman Weedbusters -incorporation pending Ronga Restoration Project $60,000 The aim of this project is to provide effective pest plant control to complement existing pest plant programmes. This will be critical to ensure restoration plantings remain viable and for the protection of existing native forests from pest plant infestation.
Eastern South Island The Ohau Conservation Trust Lake Ohau Cotoneaster Control $28,565 Restoration of key habitats in the project area through the removal of cotoneaster within the project area to protect indigenous shrublands and promote indigenous regeneration. The Project will also focus on educating the local community about cotoneaster and its effects on indigenous biodiversity.
Eastern South Island The Ohau Conservation Trust Lake Ohau foreshore weed control $8,677 Removal of Russell lupin and other woody weeds along the lower western and southern lakeshore of Lake Ohau to improve the integrity and viability of the Lake Ohau lakeshore, and for the maintenance and enhancement of the natural setting.
Eastern South Island Mt Somers Walkways Society Gorse and broom control, Mt Somers Area $4,000 Ground based gorse and broom control of the Mt Somers Walkway Area to keep the area free of these weeds with the aim to retain open grass-lands.
Eastern South Island Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu Kātiki Kaitiaki (Kātiki Ranger) $45,000 Engagement of a suitable person to carry out management at Katiki Reserve, and to ensure that whanau are up-skilled with a vision that Ngai Tahu will eventually take control and lead the conservation efforts at Katiki.
Eastern South Island Otago Peninsula Biodiversity Group  Towards a Pest-Free Peninsula "Possum free and on to the next pest" $98,000 Continuation of an existing Otago Peninsula Biodiversity Group community initiative to successfully cull around 10,000 possums from an area of 9,500 ha with the ultimate long-term goal of an animal pest free peninsula by 2050.
Eastern South Island Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust Restoring areas of special ecological value adjacent to and including threatened species habitat in Coastal Otago and Murihiku. $80,000 To allocate staff hours to undertake the Trust's conservation tasks at Okia Reserve by means of restoring a significant wetland adjacent to hoiho habitat, and the undertaking of all aspects of hoiho management.
Eastern South Island Landscape Connections Trust The Halo Project $40,000 The Halo Project is a response to the invasive mammalian pests which threatening the vitality of the project area, and will provide a safe habitat of the threatened bird species spilling over from the fenced ecosanctuary into the wider landscape.
Eastern South Island Waimakariri Ecological and Landscape Restoration Alliance  Upper Waimakariri Wilding Conifer Control $95,758 This community based partnership project aims to remove seeding source conifers from around the Craigieburn control area and outlier seeding sources to the north and south of Flock Hill station.
Western South Island Okarito Community Association Okarito Lagoon Predator Control $45,000 This project is a community led initiative to enhance the conservation values of Okarito Lagoon, an internationally significant ecosystem. The project is designed to protect several threatened bird species including bittern, rowi, fernbird and dotterel on the North Beach of the lagoon and adjoining wetlands. This will be achieved through sustained predator control and threatened species monitoring.
Western South Island Westland Industrial Heritage Park Inc. Forest and Mudfish Habitat restoration $21,750 This project is designed to enhance the manuka wetland and forest adjacent to the heritage park at Heritage Road, Hokitika. The park is home to mudfish, freshwater invertebrates and native birds. These species will be protected and aided through weeding, planting of natives, building weirs and predator control.
Western South Island Cobden Aromahana Sanctuary and Recreation Area Inc.  Cobden wetlands restoration and recreational development $50,000 The project aims to improve whitebait habitat and spawning in a tidal area of Cobden Island and lagoon in Greymouth. The project will include riparian planting, weed removal and predator trapping.
Western South Island Lake Kaniere Property Owners Association Lake Kaniere Weedbusters $5,410 This project will involve the clearing of pest plants from private properties and their boundaries of the scenic reserve at Lake Kaniere. The aim is that through the clearing of weed species, pest plants will not be able to invade the project sites, thereby allowing the native biodiversity to flourish.
Western South Island Buller Cycling Club Lost Lagoon Bridge and enhancements $20,000 The location of this project is the Lost Lagoon in the Buller District. The Buller Cycling Club will perform weed control operations and will install entrance signage (including maps), interpretation panels and directional signs. The outcome of the project will be to enhance and protect the rich natural heritage of the project site to encourage its use and appreciation.
Western South Island The Paparoa Wildlife Trust ONE Released Kiwi Monitoring $30,000 The Paparoa Wildlife Trust will involve nest cameras and smart transmitters to monitor the nesting and breeding behaviour of great spotted kiwi/roroa, that have been released into the Roaring Meg Ecological Area. The purpose of the project is to see if juveniles released go on to form breeding pairs and successfully hatch eggs in the wild. Specifically, the grantee hopes to see which pairs are the most successful, such as combinations of wild and raised kiwi. The information will help the project managers going forward on the quickest and most cost effective way to increase the population.
Western South Island Bruce Bay Community Hall Incorporated Find that weed - Bruce Bay Weedbusters $15,000 This project aims to keep South Westland as free of pest plants as possible. This requires searching for, and identifying weed plants to be eradicated. The project also involves controlling weeds at introduction points such a gardens and developments associated with rural communities.
Western South Island Heritage West Coast Inc Digitising West Coast DOC Audio Recordings and Negatives/Slides $11,280 The Hokitika office of DOC has approximately 180 audio recordings from old identities and thousands of negatives/slides that were recorded and taken in the 1980s and 1990s. The content dates to earlier years and is invaluable in the insights into the history of the Hokitika area. Heritage West Coast will invest their voluntary time and professional expertise with DOC to oversee the digitising of the audio recordings and 1000 slides/negatives so these are saved, held digitally and available in perpetuity.
Western South Island Conservation Volunteers New Zealand Punakaiki Coastal Restoration Project $60,000 This project will complement the significant investment in the Punakaiki Coastal Restoration Project site to date, through enhancement plantings and targeted weed control. The project will also work towards initiating a predator control programme.
Western South Island South Westland Area School La Fontaine Restoration $15,000 Restoration of a section of streambank along a tributary of La Fontaine Stream located in Hari Hari, South Westland. Students and friends of the South Westland Area School will grow native plants from seed and be fully involved in planting of over 5,000 plants, providing a learning opportunity on restoration and natural processes.

Ross District - Weed control and wetlands promotion

$66,053 Control and contain environmental weed species to protect the backdrop of Ross, Totara Lagoon Wetlands, and prevent spread into South Westland. Enhancing the wetlands area by reinstatement of native vegetation and educate by installing interpretation panels.
Western South Island Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio Kiwi Mo Ake Tonu – Kiwi Forever $60,000 The project aims to establish an education and engagement programme to provide a kaupapa based learning opportunity, connecting rangatahi with the natural environment and taonga (particularly the rowi), and learning culture and tikanga.
Southern South Island Hollyford Conservation Trust - Te Roopu Manaaki o Whakatipu Waitai Hollyford Conservation Project - 2016/17 bait station filling operation. $30,000 The project to fill bait stations is part of a wider ecological restoration project at Martins Bay, Fiordland. The aim is to protect the indigenous biodiversity of the area by controlling rat and possum numbers.
Southern South Island Pomona Island Charitable Trust Protecting Pomona Island for Haast tokoeka $13,101 The aim of the project is to provide a safer habitat for Haast tokoeka, mohua, robin and other native species on Pomona Island, Lake Manapouri, during a beech mast year using animal pest control.
Southern South Island Stewart Island/Rakiura Community & Environment Trust  Halfmoon Bay Habitat Restoration Project $78,072 Employing a pest manager to head the pest control programme near Oban, Rakiura. This continues the work in an initiative to safeguard the forest birdlife populations around the Halfmoon Bay area.
Southern South Island Forest Hill Foundation Trust Forest Hill Restoration Project $90,000 To remove introduced mammalian pests from Forest Hill Scenic Reserve with a goal of restoring the forest to a healthy diversity of indigenous flora and fauna.
Southern South Island Omaui Landcare Charitable Trust Rat control in Omaui DOC Scenic Reserve $62,206 Deployment of Goodnature resetting traps throughout the interior of the Omaui Scenic Reserve, the project funding will provide traps that will be installed, marked, set and maintained by volunteers.
Southern South Island Southland Branch New Zealand Deerstalkers Association Mason Bay (Stewart Island) Rat Control Program $8,691 This is an ongoing integrated pest control operation that includes establishing, monitoring and maintaining traps at Mason Bay in conjunction with native bird monitoring in order to create a baseline dataset.
Southern South Island Rakiura Maori Land Trust The Neck Pest Control 2016/17 $50,000 Animal pest control operation targeting The Neck peninsula on Rakiura. This project ties in with ongoing work in the area and aims to restore the native forest, coastal ecosystems and habitat for native fauna including kiwi and hoiho.
Southern South Island Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society Rekos Point Ecological Enhancement Project $19,264 The group will construct a rabbit-proof fence around an area of restoration planting with the aim of increasing plant survival rates and facilitating easier maintenance. The site is a high profile area on the Clutha River and part of a trail used by the public for cycling and walking.
Southern South Island Mountainbikers Of Alexandra Inc  Flat Top Up/Down Track $27,964 Mountainbikers Of Alexandra Inc is constructing a new track in the Flat Top Hill Conservation Area and the project will enlist the services of a track building company and a digger to complete the lower portion of the trail. The aim is to create a track that is more accessible and facilitates higher usage of the growing network of tracks in the wider Conservation Area.
Southern South Island Fiordland Wapiti Foundation Stoat Control - Fiordland Wapiti Foundation $24,000 The Fiordland Wapiti Foundation, in partnership with DOC, carries out stoat control in the Wapiti area of the Fiordland National Park benefitting native species including whio and kiwi. The project will continue the work over a further three years and be supported with contributions toward transport costs and materials.
Southern South Island Wakatipu Reforestation Trust Wakatipu Beech Reforestation after Wilding Contol. $50,000 The Trust plans to expand its community nursery to enable greater capacity for potting eco-sourced native beech/tawhai trees to a sufficient size, which will then be planted on land where wilding conifers have been sprayed or removed. The aim of this project is to prevent the re-establishment of wilding pines where they have already been controlled, and restore and increase the indigenous biodiversity of the Wakatipu Basin by creating areas of beech/tawhai forest.
National Te whangai Trust Pukorokoro/Miranda Ecological Project $150,000 Te Whangai Trust will coordinate the effort of landowners to preserve and protect the Miranda/Pukororo wetlands and ecosystems, and areas throughout the Western Firth of Thames catchment with restoration plantings.
National Endangered Species Foundation of New Zealand (ESFNZ) Growing the ESFNZ Ambassadors Club network to enable conservation of New Zealand's rarest of the rare $40,000 The focus of the project is building the ESFNZ Ambassador Club network, to create wider outreach for funding opportunities to build the ESFNZ Endowment Fund to $30 million by 2020.
National Outdoor Recreation Consortium Outdoor Recreation Consortium $347,826 The Outdoor Recreation Consortium was formed in 2014 to encourage greater volunteer contribution to the maintenance and enhancement of the backcountry hut, track and trail network by the wider New Zealand outdoors community. This grant will deliver another 64 projects, through 16,000 hours of voluntary labour.
National Sustainable Coastlines Charitable Trust Restorative Justice - Enabling the up-scaling of Sustainable Coastlines'. Love Your Water programme. $83,030 Sustainable Coastlines will deliver four large-scale restoration projects as a pilot with the Department of Corrections and DOC, through planting plans and associated activities.
National Environmental Defence Society Spatial Frameworks for Marine Protected Areas $40,000 The project will identify how strategic spatial planning frameworks can be applied to marine areas around New Zealand to integrate marine protection with other forms of marine management including fisheries, Resource Management Act and management of catchments draining into the marine area.
