Watch Meet the Locals videos to learn about New Zealand's unique plants and animals, habitats and the people working to protect them.

These education resources link teaching and learning activities to a selection of Meet the Locals videos. This is a partnership between DOC and TVNZ.

Meet the Locals videos highlight the inspiring work of local communities, individuals and DOC staff as they strive to protect and enhance New Zealand's natural heritage.

The units were written for years 7-9 but teachers of younger or older students can easily adapt them. They can stand alone or be incorporated into wider teaching units.
