Hooker Valley Track field trip

Introduction

Students are guided to four discovery locations along the track to the first swing bridge over the Hooker River.

Historic photographs, brief discussion and physical exploration aid students learning about the original Hermitage Hotel site, Freda's Rock, Mueller moraines and the first swing bridge.

        Location: Track starts at Hooker Valley carpark – meet at White Horse public shelter
        Duration: 45 minutes return to the first bridge; 3-4 hours return to the Hooker Glacier lake
        Hazard level: Moderate – loose gravel, some steep uneven ground, (basic food, water, clothing requirements essential)
        Cost: LEOTC fee
