Getting there

We are located in St Arnaud, SH63. Turn into Kerr Bay Road and then first right on to View Road. We are on the corner (200 m from Lake Rotoiti, 500 m from Kerr Bay campground).

Dogs and other domestic animals are not permitted at Lake Rotoiti or Lake Rotoroa as these are within the Nelson Lakes National Park boundaries. Dogs are permitted at Teetotal Recreation Reserve and campground.

No ATM facilities in St Arnaud. No vehicle charging stations.

Opening hours

  • Summer: 8 am – 4.30 pm daily
  • Winter: 9 am – 4.00 pm (closed for lunch) daily
  • Closed Christmas Day 25 December

  • Topographical maps, retail items including gas cannisters and outdoor clothing, backcountry food, books and brochures.
  • Mountain biking at Teetotal Recreation Reserve or Beeby’s / Red Hills.
  • Dog access permits for Nelson Lakes National Park.
  • Teetotal hunting permits and sighting-in range permits.
  • Seasonal access for Molesworth /Acheron Road and Rainbow Road.
  • Learn about the nature features and history of the area in the museum display area.
