Te Rua-o-te-moko / Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre is in the lakeside town of Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park – part of the Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area.

Getting there

We’re on the waterfront, at the corner of Lakefront Drive and SH95 Manapouri Highway. It's a 10 minute walk from Te Anau's main street.

Winter 2025

1 May to 24 October 2025:

  • Monday to Saturday open 9 am – 4 pm. Closed 12–1 pm for lunch.
  • Closed Sunday.

Summer 2025/26

25 October 2025 to 30 April 2026:

  • Monday to Sunday open 9 am – 4 pm. Closed 12–1 pm for lunch.

Holidays

  • Anzac Day, 25 April, 1 pm – 4 pm.
  • Open on public holidays, except closed Christmas Day, 25 December.
