Game Animal Council vacancies August 2026
The Minister for Hunting and Fishing is seeking applications for up to two Councillor roles on the Game Animal Council.
The Minister is specifically seeking applicants with strong knowledge of, and connections to:
- Sika deer and hunting in the central North Island, and/or
- The Fiordland, Southland, and wider South Island hunting communities.
Additional knowledge and experience relevant to the role includes: game animals (recreational and commercial hunting, deer farming, hunting-related tourism), farming generally, forestry, kaitiakitanga, nature conservation, scientific disciplines, business acumen, and governance experience in a related field.
Appointments will take effect from the date of appointment and be for a term of up to three years.
