New Zealand Nature Fund
Introduction
The New Zealand Nature Fund is a conservation philanthropy organisation, working with the private sector and individuals who are looking to invest money in New Zealand's natural heritage.
The New Zealand National Parks and Conservation Foundation is now operating as the New Zealand Nature Fund.
Established in 2001, the foundation is an independent charitable trust offering fund management services. It holds and invests donations and private sector funding, distributing funds to New Zealand-based conservation projects that meet their investment criteria.
They offer independent assurance and accountability. They have worked with DOC since 2001, supporting a number of conservation projects across New Zealand including:
- Takahē Recovery Programme
- pest control in the Cozette Burn Valley, Fiordland
- Tamatea– Art and Conservation in Dusky Sound
- hut rebuilds
- bequests for conservation
- Routeburn Project.
